- Abstract
The article reports on the denial of the New York-based International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) that it violated ethics by testing a US-made HIV vaccine in India. According to the author, the tgAAC09 vaccine uses an adeno-associated viral vector and has been developed by Targeted Genetics of Seattle. He added that the vaccine does not elicit significant immune responses at the does evaluate in Germany and Belgium. Moreover, the vaccine trial has been stopped by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for the vaccine has given a poor immune responses.
