- Title
Digital mRNA profiling.
- Authors
Fortina, Paolo; Surrey, Saul
- Abstract
The article provides information about the digital mRNA profiling technology. According to the author, the method involves mixing total RNA with pairs of capture and reporter probes tailored to each mRNA, hybridizing and washing away excess probes. He added that the solution-phase hybridization scheme is expected to minimize background signal and improve detection of low-abundance mRNAs. Moreover, the approach bridges the gap between genome-wide and targeted mRNA expression profiling. Furthermore, high sensitivity, digital data output and a high level of multiplexing are being provided by the approach.
