- Abstract
An essay is presented on Homer's tale "Odyssey" as part of the tale type "The Homecoming Husband." It focuses on scenes of the tale that allude to the "The Homecoming Husband" type or to other archaic-era stories pertaining to the return of Odysseus. The author highlights how the "Odyssey" interacts with other archaic-era stories with "The Homecoming Husband" type, and discusses the allomotif that is not part of "Odyssey," wherein Odysseus does not communicate through song.
