- Abstract
Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the facial profile of Pakistani male and female adults on the basis of Holdaway norms and compare with the other population. Materials and Methods: The hundred (100) standardized lateral cephalometric radiographs of Pakistani adults studied included 50 males and 50 females, with an average age of 20 years. The criteria of selection were Class I incisor relationship with no crowding, no skeletal abnormality, balanced facial skeletal profile and no previous orthodontic treatment. All cephalometric landmarks were located and determined and subsequently tracing had been done according to Holdway's analysis. Results: In this study the soft tissue analysis was considered within Holdaway norms. Except for two variables Pakistani adults soft tissue profile lies in Holdaway's soft tissue norms parameters. Conclusion: This study evaluates the soft tissue analysis according to the standard Holdaway norms with comparison of other population. The results revealed that the face tends to be more straight in Pakistani male compared to female.
