- Abstract
The article presents a discussion on attitudes within the academic field of 20th-century German agricultural economics. Particular attention is paid to the flourishing of this academic discipline under national socialist government, developments in academic focus after 1945, and the discipline's historiographical choices to repress or deny its relations to Nazi Germany. Further comments are made concerning the generational relations among agricultural economists after World War II, the Nazi-led dismissal of agricultural economics professors Karl Brandt, Carl Ludwig Sachs, and Friedrich Aereboe in 1933, and the extent of mutual professional affirmation and dependence in the field after 1945.
