- Title
Nanoecotoxicology: Environmental risks of nanomaterials.
- Authors
Scheringer, Martin
- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the environmental risks of nanomaterials. The study findings suggest that rising production and use of engineered nanomaterials in numerous industrial applications and consumer products increases the likelihood of environmental exposure. The study showed that the predicted concentrations of carbon nanotubes (CNT) and nanosilver in the environment pose little risk, whereas nanoparticulate titanium dioxide may be problematic in water bodies and therefore requires further scrutiny.
