- Abstract
This article presents a study on the adequacy of the Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988 in the U.S. in protecting the rights of individuals with disabilities to accessible multi-family housing and its impact on their level of satisfaction with living environment. There are differences in these individuals' level of satisfaction with living environment depending upon the design attributes of the built environment. Individuals with disabilities are more satisfied with their behavior and natural environment when they live in houses that comply with the law.
