- Authors
Nathan, Paul A.; Johnson, Owen; Clamp, Susan; Wyatt, Jeremy C.
- Abstract
The authors discuss the need to reconsider the capture and use of family history in primary care, focusing on the value of family history in early diagnosis of medical conditions and relevant diseases. Topics include an investigation of the hypothesis that family history is under-recordd in electronic patient records, the opportunities and barriers in improving the capture of family history information, and how online, patient-driven tools can help reduce pressures on consultations.
