- Abstract
2 The postulated cause of hyperpigmentation may be attributed to increased intraepidermal melanin dispersion or retention triggered by chikungunya fever. Laboratory investigations revealed a positive IgM antibody by enzyme-linked immunoassay against the chikungunya virus; all other viral serologies including IgM and IgG against dengue virus were negative. CLINICAL PICTURE Chiksign:post-chikungunyahyperpigmentation A 42-year-old gentleman presented with hyperpigmentation on his face for the duration of 2 weeks.
