- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 43-year old woman with complaints of severe pain and tenderness in her lower abdomen for four days, along with a history of a bloody mucoid vaginal discharge. The patient was diagnosed with heterotopic pregnancy with ruptured ectopic pregnancy and hemoperitoneum. It discusses heterotopic pregnancy, the coexistence of an intrauterine and ectopic gestations. It concludes that the heterotopic pregnancy is potentially risky for the mother and the intrauterine conceptus.
