- Abstract
The article offers information on the study which shows that patients with diabetes who received fluoroquinolones were supervised with dysglycemia such as hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia. The study monitored 78,000 patients with diabetes in Taiwan, who uses ciprofloxacin, moxifloxacin, and macrolides. Results show that the hyperglycemia's absolute risk was 1.6 per 1000 for macrolides and 6.9 for moxifloxacin, and the hypoglycemia risk was 3.7 for macrolides and 10.0 for moxifloxacin.
