- Abstract
This article discusses a case study of an 8-year-old child with a brain tumor who experienced delayed activation of the reticular activating system (RAS) after surgery. The child did not wake up from anesthesia and entered a vegetative state. However, the use of musical therapy was found to activate the RAS and improve the child's neurological condition. The article suggests that musical therapy may have the potential to be a promising intervention for patients with delayed RAS activation and other conditions such as sleep disorders, attention deficits, dementia, and anxiety disorders.
