- Abstract
The article focuses on the limitations of Marks Doctrine to cope up with the challenges of trademark squatting in China-based multinational companies (MNCs). Topics discussed include importance of territoriality principle in extending trademark protection, laws regulating the process of trademark registration, and the obligations of World Trade Organization (WTO) related to trademark squatting under the Agreement on Trade Related Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS).
