- Abstract
The author reflects on several medical literature and dramas. A. J. Cronin's "The Citadel" humanised doctors and demystified medicine. It was adapted for the big screen and was rated as one of the better films of the 1930s. "The House of God," by Samuel Shem depicts the life of interns, capturing the poor working conditions and isolation from friends and family. There have been no less than 45 medical dramas produced for television, including "Marcus Welby,M.D.," Doctor Finlay" and "A Country Practice."
