- Title
Evaluating Chamaedorea alternans.
- Authors
Bacon, Christine D.
- Abstract
This study focuses on the assessment of species boundaries between Chamaedorea alternans and Chamaedorea tepejilote in the Los Tuxtlas region in Veracruz, Mexico. It is stated that the lack of a consensus on the status of Chamaedorea alternans has implicated basic taxonomy and conservation in southern Mexico. It is inferred that the evidence supporting the distinctiveness between these two species is important for both conservation biology and ongoing research on these taxa.
