- Abstract
The article discusses the use of hand gestures by teachers and students in classrooms in order to improve reading comprehension. The article describes the use of a set of gestures called the Fab Four Gestures in various classroom scenarios including a read-alouds and small-group literature discussions. The steps of the Fab Four Gestures help students focus on predicting, questioning, clarifying, and summarizing. The article addresses the usefulness of gestures for reading exercises in the classroom, especially for kinesthetic learners.
