- Abstract
The article presents a study which assessed the effects of the extraction of natural resources on lemurs in Masoala Peninsula, Madagascar. The researchers compared the population density and demography for the species of Varecia variegata rubra and Eulemur fulvus albifrons to assess their sensitivity to routine extraction by local villagers. According to them, the level of the extraction of resources does not have a significant impact on fecundity, density and group size.
