- Title
LORD FITZWARREN AND A CAROL OF 1470.
- Authors
BREEZE, ANDREW
- Abstract
The article discusses the identity of a noble identified in the carol "Willikin's Return." The carol focuses on Richard Neville, a former Earl of Warwick known as Warwick the Kingmaker, and discusses Lord Fueryn. A document listing knights created during the reign of English king Henry VII suggests Lord Fueryn may have been William Bourchier. The author raises questions regarding Bourchier's loyalty to English king Henry VI and discusses losses at the battle of Barnet, England between members of the House of York and the House of Lancaster.
