- Abstract
Brazilian society faces sociocultural changes triggered by the growing long-standing reality, therefore, the commitment to highlight public policies that value the elderly, to remain teaching and learning subjects in personal, family, and social life. But what does society provide them to boost daily life, otherwise, what do they seek to accomplish to remain active in society? Continuous learning emerges to expand and cultivate conventional and digital literacy practices to feel included in society. The corpus of analysis refers to its reading practices carried out during school time and currently expanded, such information obtained through a pedagogical survey, for the purpose of didactic planning of the discipline Reading and Textual Production taught at the Open University at Maturity (UAMA). According to the analysis, it was observed that literacy practices (school and current temporality) were not only expanded, but diversified into conventional and digital literacies, considering that this information guides the elaboration of didactic-pedagogical proposals for education with elderly people in space formal and informal.
