- Abstract
Background: The quantity of byproducts produced by the catfish flour industry, including bones/thorns, oil, and skin, varies depending on how active it is. If these byproducts neglected, they will turn into organic trash and harm the ecosystem. Therefore, one of these wastes, fish oil, will be used as part of the ITB 2022 community service project with PT Rumah Inovasi Natura. Even though catfish oil has active ingredients that are excellent for the growth and development of intelligence, it does not have a pleasant aroma like other fish oils do. This community service projeczzt goal is to use bentonite to clean catfish oil, making the final product clearer and unscented. Additionally, the oil is transformed into a sweet candy so that kids prefer it. Methods: The June 2022 service projects included counseling and training for the Tulungagung district's community, which included members of the PKK group, IKM (small and medium-sized businesses), SMKN 1 students, and PAUD students. They were given fish oil jelly candies and information on the value of fish oil for intellect, especially for PAUD pupils. Results: The diverse groups of participants in this program responded very favorably to the outcomes of the community service projects. In conclusion, this service activity creates food items using complement catfish oil, which has a variety of beneficial bioactives that can benefit children's brain development.
