- Abstract
Introduction: Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis (XGP) is a rare inflammatory disease of the kidney. It is an uncommon form of chronic bacterial pyelonephritis. Objective: To study the a clinicopathological relationship of the lesion Method: A 7 year retrospective study was done to analyse the lesions of renal and ureteric calculi. XGP was most common in females. Conclusion : It is an uncommon form of chronic pyelonephritis. Preoperative diagnosis is desirable with laboratory analysis. Histopathological examination is mandatory to evaluate the type of the lesion and the etiological factor
