- Abstract
The article presents a study which evaluates the initial microbial corrosion of captan, to identify the residue of pesticide, intermediate degradation, and to admit the impact of captan in soil microorganisms' respiratory activity. The study utilizes the thin layer chromatography, in which carbonyl-14C labeled captan was taken from Chevron Chemical Co. Results show that captan had demonstrated an effect on soil biological activity through soil respiration.
