- Title
Reporting Results of the Standardized Testing Program to Parents.
- Authors
McCauley, John H.
- Abstract
The article focuses on reporting results of the Standardized Testing Program to parents. The elementary schools served by the writer are in a county system which administers the California Test of Mental Maturity, Primary Form, to all second grades and Elementary Form to all fourth grades. The Iowa Tests of Basic Skills are administered to all third and sixth grades. With this article is an example of a profile chart which the writer plots for each fourth grade student. Instead of using the Pupil Profile Chart developed by the State University of Iowa and published by Houghton Mifflin Company, the author uses the simplified version contained in the pamphlet "How Are Your Skills?" by the same publisher. Since the profile chart allows direct comparison of a child's achievement in the basic skills tested with his measured mental ability, it is a useful tool in identifying underachievers.
