- Abstract
The article investigates the elevation of surfactant protein D (SP-D), a pulmonary disease biomarker, in the sera of uveitis patients with sarcoidosis. According to the results, uveitis patients with sarcoidosis had a mean serum SP-D level of 57.0 nanogram/milliliter (ng/ml). SP-D enzyme immunoassay demonstrated higher mean serum SP-D levels in uveitis patients than the healthy control subjects and those uveitis patients with other etiologies such as Behcet disease, HLA-B27 associated uveitis, and Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease.
