- Abstract
Neuropsychological assessment instruments must comply with several characteristics including ecological validity; thus, virtual reality seeks to satisfy the need to create instruments that are correlated with functioning in daily life. The objective of this work is to specify the type of virtual reality implemented in the generation of neuropsychological assessment platforms published during the period 2017-2021 on the Pubmed platform. A total of 14 papers are included: 71.4% of the published platforms used Immersive Virtual Reality and 28.6% use Non-Immersive Virtual Reality; 35.7% of the designed platforms seek to assess memory, followed by executive functions (21.4%), attention (21.4%) and the design of assessment batteries (21.4%). The feeling of immersion allows the assessment through these platforms to present more ecological validity due to its high cognitive demand and to its ability to generate different responses.
