- Abstract
An experimental study is aimed at an increase in the generated power of the 2-mm-wavelength orotron with a two-row periodic structure and three types of open resonators owing to application of an additional electron beam in the interaction space of the device above the second row of the structure. It is demonstrated that the output power can be increased in the entire frequency tuning band (about 30%) of orotron at the ratio of the caustic radius on the plane mirror to the radiation wavelength r/λ ≌ 2 and at a single frequency at the ratio r/λ ≤ 1.5.
