- Abstract
Exposure to long-term stressors which ensue from the character of work contributes to a general distress and development of symptoms of disorder in psychological or physical health. Possible health consequences of repeated occupational exposure to stressful situations have not been systematically and uniformly observed in the occupational medical care of exposed persons. The screening questionnaire survey was oriented on determination to psychological health risks in rescuers -- medical personnel and members of the Union of Kennel Rescue. The SOC questionnaires (SOC-29, SOC-90 and experimental version of the Burn-Out Questionnaire (BOS) were distributed to 96 healthy volunteers. The test batter makes it possible to evaluate the psychological resistance and the risk of psychological disease with emphasis to the group of diagnoses F40 through F40.9 -- disorders induced by stress and somatoform disorders and Z73.0 is some cases -- Problems associated with difficulties in life conduct. In cases of greater deviations from normal values the authors performed a psychological interview and recommended a psychological intervention. The results confirmed a protective (moderating) influence of higher resilience against the development of health and psychological damage.
