Forecast in Detail.
- Abstract
The article presents economic outlook for Great Britain for 2007 to 2008. The authors note that overall net borrowing appears to be on course for the 34 billion pounds projected by the British Treasury for the period. In April-May, the current budget deficit has been 6.6 billion pounds, which is up slightly from 6.3 billion pounds for the period of 2006 to 2007. Interest rates have been raised for the fifth time to 5.75% in a year on July 5, 2007. They assume that interest rates will increase to 6%, possibly as soon August 2007.
