- Abstract
The article focuses on the proposals made by the U.S. government that are intended to increase revenue and close loopholes in the existing tax system. It tackles a proposition that will impose a 9 cents per barrel increase in the rate of the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund. It mentions the proposal that will restore superfund excise tax and will expand domestic crude oil excise tax. It adds that the corporate environmental income tax will also be reinstated.
