The article discusses why healthcare professionals should get involved in editing the free online encyclopedia site Wikipedia. Its creation of content is reportedly based on the principles of verifiability, neutrality and no original research. The article states that since Wikipedia is written for a general audience, it provides practice to communicate complex ideas in accessible language, compels the exploration of a practice's literature, and fosters critical reading and medical networking.
