- Abstract
This article proposes the reflection of one of the clinical units of the Psychosocial Department of the Chilean Institute of Family Therapy, in relation to the therapy performed with a family living in poverty and that has been intervened by the judicial system. Three children of this family have been institutionalized because the parental skills are doubted. It is a complex therapeutic work, in which the team has been faced with issues such as the necessary relationship with other institutions that are involved with the family, the need to permeate institutions with a contextual relational perspective in order to promote a wider view, the need to address resources when intervening in situations of social exclusion and the limitations of psychotherapy when operating in a judicial context.
