- Title
Radiation Protection of Patients Undergoing Cardiac Computed Tomographie Angiography.
- Authors
Einstein, Andrew J.
- Abstract
The author comments on the study by Hausleiter and colleagues that measured the radiation dose of coronary computed tomography angiography. He discusses the calculation of effective dose using a conversion factor and the dose-length product value. He believes that a patient-specific benefit-risk analysis should be performed to justify the procedure and that electrocardiographically controlled tube current modulation (ECTCM) should be used to decrease radiation dose.
