- Title
Handle with Care!: The Regional Charters and Italian Constitutionalism's 'Grey Zone'.
- Authors
Delledonne, Giacomo; Martinico, Giuseppe
- Abstract
The article discusses the decisions made by the Italian Constitutional Court on several cases about the legal effect of some regional charters on rights and fundamental principles. According to the court, the regional Statuti could not be considered as real constitutional charters and the rights and principles within it could not be regarded either as laws or legal norms. It also ruled that the contents could be considered rather as cultural statements because they only show the cultural and historical values of a region.
