- Authors
Cosma, Ioana
- Abstract
A literary criticism is presented of the 1979 book "The Long Way Around" and the autobiographical essay "The Lesson of Mont Sainte- Victoire," by Peter Handke. Particular focus is given to the slow duration of time it took the main character known as Sorger in his homecoming, including in regard to his relationship with landscapes. An overview of the portrayal of the 19th century French impressionist painter Paul Cézanne's work in Handke's literature is provided.
