- Abstract
The article discusses the results of a study on the characteristics of phenolic foams produced from wood tar resols as starting materials. The study showed that average curing index of foams was about 90 percent, densities ranging from 480 to 960 kg per cubic meter and a nonuniform pore structure with average dimensionless value of 2.6. The compressive strength of foams was higher than those conventional phenolic foams.
