- Abstract
The article presents research on an in vitro characterization of phthalyl chitosan-poly(ethylene oxide) (PCP) semi-interpenetrating polymer network microparticles for oral protein delivery. In this study, the characteristics of PCP were examined and compared with PC and native chitosan (NC). It was found that PCP particles were mucoadhesive, with a lower mucin-binding capacity resulting in its applicability in oral insulin-delivery systems.
