- Abstract
The article presents a study on the reduction of the melt viscosity of polycarbonate (PC) with low molar mass liquid crystals (LLCs). The researchers used different PC molecular weights and used solution casting in a common solvent to prepare the samples for rheology measurements. They also used a TA Instruments AR2000 to measure the rheological properties of pure PC and blends. They found that the addition of LLCs to PC inside the miscible regime affects the rheological behavior beneficially.
