- Abstract
The article discusses research on the link between colonoscopy and renal failure. It references a study by Stephane Burtey of the Universite de la Mediterranee in Marseille, France, published in the September 18, 2008 issue of "NDT Plus." The researchers observed a 75-year-old woman with acute renal failure (ARF) and severe arterial hypertension. She underwent a control colonoscopy. They found that chronic and acute renal insufficiency can be a serious side effect of a not at risk medication.
