- Abstract
The recognition expressed by the authors of Locas por la cocina (1998) towards their 19th Century predecessor, Juana Manuela Gorriti, demands a glimpse into the treatment on cooking by intellectual women of the 20th Century. In the confluence contained in the corpus of cooking recipes (and other discursive registers), it is intended to test the diversity with which role questions are contextualized as a result of an activist writing. Correspondingly, Colombian writer Héctor Abad Faciolince is presented as one who unleashes his creativity in Tratado de culinaria para mujeres tristes (1997), a text that allows to overthrow the interference of male identity in regard to taste implications surrounding women's states of mind and life projects.
