- Title
Combined contraceptive pills for androgen excess, not for polycystic ovary syndrome in adolescent girls.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses the use of combined contraceptive pills for the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in adolescent girls. It argues that while these pills can reduce androgen excess and regulate menstrual cycles, they do not address the underlying causes of PCOS or normalize ovulatory dysfunction. The authors suggest that a more effective approach would be to focus on reducing ectopic adiposity and insulin resistance through interventions such as diet and medication. They emphasize the importance of treating PCOS in a way that promotes overall pre-conception health.
