- Abstract
UNCITRAL is the core legal body of the United Nations system in the field of international trade law, with universal membership. UNCITRAL has been carrying out its mandate to further the progressive harmonization and unification of the law of international trade for nearly fifty years. This note provides a brief overview of the last Commission session and of the activities of the Commission's working groups and its Secretariat between mid-2014 to mid-2015. At its last session in Vienna (29 June-16 July 2015), the Commission approved in principle two new UNCITRAL texts: the revised UNCITRAL Notes on Organizing Arbitral Proceedings and the registry-related provisions of the draft UNCITRAL Model Law on Secured Transactions.
