Title

Shouldn't Every American Enjoy the Luxury of a Roof?

Authors

PIZZIGATI, SAM

Abstract

A report from Henley & Partners reveals that the United States is home to 37 percent of the world's millionaires, with over 5.5 million Americans holding liquid assets worth over $1 million. However, this wealth is not benefiting working families, as homelessness in the country has been increasing since 2016 due to a lack of affordable housing. Conservative lawmakers in Florida have recently passed legislation that criminalizes homeless encampments, while right-wing lawmakers in other states are attempting to ban basic income programs. These efforts are being supported by wealthy individuals and organizations that oppose income equality and regulation.
