- Abstract
The article focuses on the role of the secreted Pseudomonas aeruginosa quorum sensing (QS) molecule 3OC12HSL in virulence and in the regulation of the host immune response to opportunistic pathogens. It is shown that 3OC12HSL also regulates NF-κΒ signaling and attenuates TLR4-dependent innate immune responses. The response of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Candida albicans to 3OC12HSL is discussed.
