- Abstract
The objective of this research is to evaluate the analysis of Tanaka Johnston can be used in the population of Nayarit. For this study were used 504 plasters were measured with a digital caliper Mitutuyo brand. The research is descriptive, not experimental, and transversal. The variables were: The segment consists of the sum lower lateral incisors. The segments formed by the average mesiodistal measurements of canine, first bicuspid and second bicuspid of the maxilla and mandible. Are tabulated in the Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and statistical analysis was performed in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences Version 18. We obtained descriptive statistics and t tests were performed between the canine and premolar segment of the right and left side of the maxilla and mandible. (p= .001). We compared the predictive values of Tanaka Johnston with the actual values of canines and premolars. Conclusions: There are no statistical differences between the canine and premolars of the left side and right side. Tanaka Johnston analysis overvalued the size of the teeth's of people from Nayarit. Therefore it is necessary to adjust the formulas to use in this population.
