- Title
Flight of the mystery birds.
- Authors
Burton, Adrian
- Abstract
The article discusses the mysterious disappearance of a flock of racing pigeons in late August 2012 in Thirsk in northern England. According to Linda Brooks, the Secretary of the Scottish Homing Union, 60% of the birds released were home and within a few days about 80% were back. Emeritus Professor of Neurobiology, Charles Walcott, explains that the homing pigeons become totally disoriented at the Jersey Hill Fire Tower in Ithaca, New York that is why only 10% of the birds return from there.
