The article discusses the significance of values to geography education. It is asserted that teachers and students should analyze their own value positions, as well as deconstruct the general ideological framework in which their value positions are situated, in order to improve their ability to defend their personal value positions and understand other value positions. The elements of values are cognitive, affective and volitional.
