- Abstract
The article reports on the effect of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer on low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and ground tire rubber (GTR). The EVA was added to the LDPE and GTR to improve adhesion and quality of rubber. In order to test this effect tensile and instrumented falling weight impact samples were used as well as cross section cuts which were analyzed under a scanning electron microscope. It was found that when EVA is used as a compatabilitizer the rubber properties are ensured but with the greater content of EVA there is less improvement.
