- Abstract
A criticism of the 1874 poem "Yu-Pe-Ya's Lute," by Augusta Webster. It considers contemporary 19th century criticisms of the poem, the poem's origins as a Chinese legend first translated into French before becoming an English poem, and the poem's use of iambic pentameter. It also considers Romanticism, lyric poetry, and the influence of English poets Dorothy and William Wordsworth.
