- Abstract
«The Poet's Exile: vital reason, genus dicendi and literature». This paper tries to offer a critical analysis of the problematic relationship that literature and philosophy have maintained, in a general way, along the history of Western thinking, configured within the framework of a hegemonic model of rationality that has irreconcilably divided its tasks and competencies concerning the search for truth. I also intend to show the extent to which the notion of vital reason or ratiovitalism, the cardinal axis that structures the philosophical work of José Ortega y Gasset, offers us a fertile hermeneutical space of full relevance to rethink the theoretical assumptions that have been supporting this essential antagonism between both modes of thought and discourse.
