- Title
PROBLEMS OF PERIODIZATION IN CANADIAN SPORT HISTORY.
- Authors
Schrodt, Barbara
- Abstract
The article focuses on the Canadian sports history literature, and suggests that it's methodology lacks a meaningful periodization. The original of professional sport in Canada is discussed, and a set of meaningful time periods for the further study of sports history is presented. Canadian sports history is divided in to five periods, from early recreational activities prior to 1840 to recent developments, since 1960.
